2022 IMMEL Riesling Réserve

IMMEL is Rheinhessen's answer to Savoir Vivre characterized by centuries-old viticultural tradition infused with contemporary know-how and authentic regional identity. The Immel family stands behind it with their name.

IMMEL

In the rolling chalky hills of Rheinhessen, where the most precious vineyards in the region open imposingly towards the river, the IMMEL family in 1754 settled and bought land. With a feel for the soil, climate and nature, the young team of Immel continues a careful preservation and expansion of regional winegrowing tradition.

Georg Rieser

Today Georg is the creative mind behind IMMEL. Training companies such as Wagner-Stempel, Wittmann and Domaine Dagueneau show his pursuit of excellence and love for terroir wines. As the father of two sons, organic viticulture is an important quality parameter of individual wines and also a promise to future generations.

VITICULTURE & VINIFICATION

Focus lies on organic viticulture and a traditional vinification. After a selective harvest all wines ferment and age in casks or stainless-steel on the full lees to bring the wines in the right balance.

Tasting Notes

Delicate and elegant smell of citrus and peach with a chalky minerality. Complex and multi-layered. Shows a silky yet vibrant texture on the palate. Its long finish highlights the perfectly ripe fruit in harmony with salty minerality. A real terroir driven wine.

Press reviews

„An intensely citric dry riesling with lots of power and freshness that combines the structure of a high-end chardonnay with riesling vitality. Compact chalky finish. This needs some time to give it’s abundant best.” – Stuart Pigott, James Suckling – 94 Points
