IMMEL is Rheinhessen's answer to Savoir Vivre characterized by centuries-old viticultural tradition infused with contemporary know-how and authentic regional identity.
IMMEL - the family
In the rolling chalky hills of Rheinhessen, where the most precious vineyards in the region open imposingly towards the river, the Immel family in 1754 settled and bought land. With a feel for the soil, climate and nature, the young team of Immel continues a careful preservation and expansion of regional winegrowing tradition. Today Rheinhessen is one of the most innovative winegrowing regions in all of Germany. Immel follows the idea of producing authentic wines from organic viticulture.
GEORG - the winemaker
Georg Rieser is the creative mind behind Immel. Training companies such as Wagner-Stempel, Weingut Wittmann and Domaine Dagueneau show his pursuit of excellence and love for terroir wines. As the father of two sons, organic viticulture is an important quality parameter of individual wines and also a promise to future generations.
Viticulture & Vinification
The Immel Riesling gets gently fermented in stainless-steel and aged on the full-lees, to bring the wine into the right balance. This Riesling is characterized by charming fruit aromatics with an animating palate.
Tasting Note
Even on the nose, it evokes fresh aromas of apple, grapefruit, and mandarin, followed by yeasty notes and sea buckthorn. Elegant on the palate with a light acidity and minerality, it offers great length and flavors of yellow fruits. An essential everyday Riesling! Ideal with seasonal salads, fresh vegetables, and white meat.
Press Review 2024
„A very cool crisp and surprisingly elegant dry riesling for Rheinhessen. Generous white tree fruit on the medium-bodied palate, then a steely finish with plenty of substance.” – Stuart Pigott, James Suckling – 90 Points
