2022 IMMEL Chardonnay Réserve

IMMEL is Rheinhessen's answer to Savoir Vivre characterized by centuries-old viticultural tradition infused with contemporary know-how and authentic regional identity. The Immel family stands behind it with their name.

IMMEL

In the rolling chalky hills of Rheinhessen, where the most precious vineyards in the region open imposingly towards the river, the Immel family in 1754 settled and bought land. With a feel for the soil, climate and nature, the young team of Immel continues a careful preservation and expansion of regional winegrowing tradition.

Georg Rieser

Today Georg is the creative mind behind Immel. Training companies such as Wagner-Stempel, Wittmann and Domaine Dagueneau show his pursuit of excellence and love for terroir wines. As the father of two sons, organic viticulture is an important quality parameter of individual wines and also a promise to future generations.

VITICULTURE & VINIFICATION

Focus lies on organic viticulture and a traditional vinification. After a selective harvest this wine ferments and ages in traditional French oak barrels on the full lees until the following summer.

Tasting Notes

Bright yellow and slightly cloudy from the yeast. Intense perfume of ripe yellow fruit, combined with warm spices from the ageing in barrique barrels. Tightly structured on the palate, that is carried by a salty minerality of the limestone terroir. Full-bodied and creamy finish that lingers on the palate for minutes.

Press Reviews

„Here’s a very impressive German chardonnay with a Meursault-like amplitude and power. A lovely leesy creminess is wrapped around the super-ripe pear, lemon and hazelnut aromas. So much depth and excellent balance at the finish.” – Stuart Pigott, James Suckling – 94 Points
